CHARLESTON -- A St. Albans girl and her mother say their landlord's dog attacked the girl on the property they are renting.
Brittany Keeten, and her mother Sarah Loudermilk are seeking damages from Robert Walker because his dog attacked Keeten while she was sledding.
The suit says Keeten was sledding when the dog "dashed straight for her," and without provocation attacked her, biting her and causing injuries to her head and other wounds. Keeten also claims she was not trespassing or teasing, tormenting or abusing the dog.
Keeten and Loudermilk claim Walker knew the dog was prone to attacks and had attacked before, yet was allowed to remain loose.
The suit claims Keeten has "sustained pain and suffering, permanent scarring, extreme mental anquish and embarrassment as a result of the injuries, as well as annoyance and inconvenience."
Keeten is seeking out-of-pocket expenses, past medical expenses, future medical expenses, aggravation, annoyance, inconvenience, emotional distress, pain, suffering, attorney's fees, pre- and post-judgment interest, and such other as the court deem appropriate. The suit has been filed by James A. Muldoon.
The case has been assigned to Judge Paul Zakaib.
