* Isble and Hairston filed a suit against their former employer, Putnam County Aging Program, claiming they were fired after being the victims of racial insensitivity and sexual harassment. The women seek to be reinstated to their jobs, with back pay and benefits, including raises, as well as punitive damages.

* The state Attorney General has filed a suit against a Brazilian cigarette company, seeking funds that should have been put in an escrow fund. McGraw seeks more than $2,600,000 from Sudamax, for funds that were not put in escrow.

Arvin Lucas and Teresa Lucas v. Hurberries Inc., James Fraley and John Doe

* Lucas filed a suit after he was injured while working at the Birch River mine site in Birch River, W.Va. Lucas, a rock truck driver, was injured when a rung broke on the ladder he was using to climb into his cab. Hurberries employed Fraley and Doe, who has previously worked on the truck's ladder. Lucas was seriously injured when he fell and required medical care. He seeks compensation for his injuries, expenses and loss of wages.
