Pa. men seek damages for fire injuries

MARTINSBURG - Two Pennsylvania men blame a company that owns a cement quarry and factory in Martinsburg for injuries they sustained in a fire.

Michael and Lisa Gross and Charles Pack Jr. jointly filed a suit March 1 in Berkeley Circuit Court against Riverton Investment Corporation and ESSROC Cement Corporation.

On March 4, 2005, Michael Gross and Pack were employed as licensed electricians. They went to the cement quarry to work and were burned in an electrical incident and the resulting fire.

The fire occurred when the men were trying to rebuild a 480 main breaker. The suit claims the fire occurred as a result of multiple acts of negligence by Riverton and ESSROC.

Because of their injuries, Gross and Pack seek compensation and request punitive damages.

The plaintiffs' attorney is Paul Farrell Jr., and the case has been assigned to Judge Gary Silver.
