CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a discount store after she was injured when a package fell on her.
Fatima L. Green filed a suit March 29 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Family Dollar Stores of West Virginia.
Green claims she was shopping in the store on Dec. 15, 2005, when a package on a shelf fell, striking her and causing her to quickly duck, the suit says.
As a result, Green suffered serious injuries and incurred medical bills. She claims the store was negligent because the package was under the store's control.
Therefore, Green seeks compensatory damages from Family Dollar.
Green is represented by attorney Jason Goad of the law firm Hunt and Serreno, and the case has been assigned to Judge Irene Berger.
