CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a personal injury suit against a man who hit her with a car and left the scene.
Tomora Howard filed a suit April 12 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Jamie Stevens.
According to the suit, Howard claims Stevens asked her to reimburse him for a wrench that he broke while repairing her vehicle.
"Although Ms. Howard agreed to pay ... Stevens became angry and stormed out of the building," the suit says.
Howard claims she followed him in an effort to resolve the situation and saw Stevens sitting behind the wheel of a car with the door open. The suit says Howard stood next to the vehicle to talk to Stevens.
"While she stood there ... Stevens abruptly and without warning hit the accelerator ... knocking Ms. Howard to the ground and running over her right foot, causing immediate injury to her back, right shoulder, foot, knee and leg. He then left the scene," the suit says.
Howard claims she has suffered from Stevens' wrongful conduct she seeks judgment against him.
Through attorney Lisa Kerr, Tomora Howard seeks compensatory damages and court costs.
The case has been assigned to Judge Jennifer Bailey Walker.
