Cabell woman sues 100 companies, including Inco, for husband's death

CHARLESTON - A Cabell County woman has filed an asbestos lawsuit against 100 different companies on behalf of her late husband.

Sylvia Mohr filed a suit April 19 on behalf of William Mohr. The suit says Mohr was a laborer for Inco Alloys in Huntington. He had asbestosis and mesothelioma.

Inco Alloys, one of Huntington's largest employers, now is called Special Metals.

The suit claims Mohr died as a direct result of the exposure to asbestos and asbestos-containing products.

In a 16-count suit, Sylvia Mohr claims the companies were negligent by allowing her husband to work around dangerous products, which made him ill and ultimately caused his death.

Sylvia Mohr, through her attorney David P. Chervenick, seeks compensatory and punitive damages against the defendants.

The case will be assigned to a visiting judge.
