Dixie A. Hager vs. the City of Martinsburg

* Hager claims the defendant was negligent by failing to repair its sewer system, which caused the sewer to repeatedly back up into the plaintiff's basement. On Nov. 29, 2005, Hager went into her basement, slipped on the wet floor and fractured her spine. Her medical expenses and nursing care cost more than $77,000, and she is seeking an undetermined amount of relief.

* Parsons claims his rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act were violated while he was employed at the Lowe's store in Berkeley County. He claims that he was treated poorly and eventually terminated after he had to miss work because of his father's death, as well as injuries he sustained when he was hit by a truck. Parsons is seeking an undetermined amount of relief.
