Berkeley woman sues market after slip and fall

MARTINSBURG - A Berkeley County woman filed a suit against a local grocery store after she slipped and fell in one of the aisles.

Dianna Bailey filed a suit July 11 in Berkeley Circuit Court against Giant Food Stores, doing business as Martin's Food Market.

According to the suit, Bailey went to Martin's to shop July 15, 2005. While walking down the pet food aisle, she slipped and fell on a clear liquid. She suffered serious and permanent injuries.

Bailey claims she did not have any notice that the floor was wet, making it a dangerous and hazardous condition.

Bailey, through attorney Gregory A. Bailey, seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gray Silver.
