A strip club, a safe and a car wreck result in lawsuit

MARTINSBURG - A Berkeley County man has filed a suit against a man who drove into his parked car after he stole a safe from an area gentlemen's club.

Troy W. Erickson filed a suit July 20 in Berkeley Circuit Court against Jamey Keith Davis.

According to the suit, Davis tried to steal a safe from Legz Gentlemen's Club on March 14, 2006. He tried to flee the scene "by driving in an erratic manner."

Davis then drove into a parked vehicle own by Erickson.

Erickson claims Davis is negligent because he did not exercise reasonable care when fleeing the scene of a crime. As a result, Erickson suffered damages of personal property, annoyance and inconvenience.

He seeks unspecified damages.

Attorney Christopher Prezioso is representing Erickson. The case has been assigned to Judge Christopher Wilkes.
