CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a medical malpractice suit against a pediatrician's office because of the time it took to diagnose her infant son, who ultimately lost his hearing because of his illness.
Christa Robinson and Ronald Harris filed a suit Sept. 4 in Kanawha Circuit Court, against ABC Pediatrics, a medical office in Kanawha County.
According to the suit, four-month-old Navar Brian Harris was taken to the office with a complaint of a fever. Robinson claims the office was negligent and careless by failing to "promptly diagnose and treat the condition," Harris was suffering.
The suit also says Harris was forced to endure an extended stay in the waiting room.
As a result of the carelessness, Robinson claims her son was seriously injured, including permanent hearing loss.
According to the suit, Harris suffered temporary and permanent injuries, future pain, suffering and deformities, medical expenses and humiliation and embarrassment.
As a result Robinson and Ronald Harris have lost the society, companionship and services of their son.
They seek compensatory damages.
Attorney Madonna C. Estep is representing Harris. The case has been assigned to Judge James Stucky.
