Lowe's to blame for injury on swing display, woman says

MORGANTOWN - A Monongalia County woman has filed a suit against a national home improvement chain after a display swing she set on at the store collapsed, injuring her.

Sharon Frum filed a suit Sept. 18 in Monongalia Circuit Court against Lowe's Companies Inc. and the store manager, Crystal D. Sypolt.

According to the suit, Frum went to the Lowe's located on Mall Road in Morgantown. While there, she set on a porch canopy swing, which was on display.

Frum "was immediately violently thrown out of the swing which, unknown to her, was broken, or not properly installed," the suit says.

Frum claims she suffered serious and permanent injuries.

According to the suit, the store was negligent and caused a dangerous and hazardous condition by allowing a broken swing to remain on display.

Frum claims she has incurred substantial medical expenses. She seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Attorney J. Bryan Edwards is representing Frum.
