CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a volunteer firefighter after he hit her while responding to a call from the fire department.
Dorothy Fisher, of Sissonville, filed a suit Sept. 26 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Robert Edward Dipietro Jr. and the Sissonville, Millertown, Pocatalico and Guthrie volunteer fire departments.
According to the suit, on Feb. 8, 2007, Fisher was a passenger in a car traveling south on Route 21 in Kanawha County.
At the same time, Dipietro was responding to a call for the volunteer fire department. Dipietro allegedly turned left to cross the southbound lane of Route 21 when he hit Fisher's vehicle head on.
Fisher claims she was injured because of Dipietro's negligence. Fisher claims Dipietro failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout and to stop in adequate time to avoid the collision.
Fisher seeks compensatory and punitive damages for her injuries, aggravation, annoyance and inconvenience.
Attorney Paul M. Stroebel is representing Fisher. The case has been assigned to Judge Charlie King.
