CHARLES TOWN - A Jefferson County woman who was in a car wreck is suing the woman who hit her for $75,000.
Jody L. Shewbridge filed a suit Sept. 21 in Jefferson Circuit Court against S&N Communications and Deborah Kaye Mercardo.
According to the suit, Shewbridge was driving on Washington Street in Harpers Ferry when Mercardo hit her in a vehicle owned by S & N Communications. The suit says Mercardo was given a citation for failure to yield, while Shewbridge was not found to have contributed to the collision.
Shewbridge claims she suffered injuries to her body, body chemistry and psyche. According to the suit, Shewbridge has incurred various expenses and will continue to do so.
Shewbridge seeks compensatory and punitive damages up to $75,000.
