Md. man says strip club bouncer bounced him too harshly

CHARLES TOWN - A Maryland man has filed a suit against a Jefferson County strip club after he was injured when he was thrown out.

Christian Gartland filed a suit Sept. 28 in Jefferson Circuit Court against Vixens Club in Bunker Hill, W.Va.

According to the suit, Gartland and several friends went to Vixens Club on April 28, 2007. Vixens is an exotic dancing establishment featuring all-nude dancers, the suit says.

Gartland and his friends were admitted to the club, and then paid an additional cover charge to go to the VIP Room.

According to the suit, while Gartland was standing near the VIP area, a bouncer came up to him, grabbed him, placed him in a chokehold and took him outside.

Gartland claims he had not been acting in any way that deserved being thrown out of the club.

"A Vixens Club employee/agent then smashed Mr. Gartland's head into the sidewalk outside of Vixens," the suit says.

Gartland claims his cheekbones were fractured, his teeth were chipped and he suffered other cuts, abrasions and bruises when thrown to the sidewalk.

According to the suit, none of the employees offered to help Gartland despite his pain and suffering, and advised Gartland's brother not to call 911. However, he did and Gartland was taken to City Hospital.

In the six-count suit, Gartland seeks compensatory damages for his injuries.

Attorney Stephen G. Skinner is representing Gartland.
