Cabell woman sues bank after falling in drive-thru

HUNTINGTON - A Cabell County woman has filed a suit against a Huntington bank after she fell while walking on bank property.

Geneva Swartz filed a suit Oct. 15 in Cabell Circuit Court against City Holding Company, known as City National Bank.

According to the suit, Swartz was walking through the drive-thru window at the bank when she fell. As a result of the fall, Swartz fractured her right humerus and severed an artery.

Swartz required surgery and hospitalization, which cost more than $20,000. According to the suit, City National failed to maintain its property, causing Swartz great pain and suffering.

Swartz seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Attorney Kerry A. Nessel is representing Swartz. Judge David Pancake has been assigned to the case.
