* Barbara J. Brewster filed a suit against 56 companies that each had a hand in manufacturing, selling, supplying or installing asbestos and asbestos-containing materials. Brewster filed the suit on behalf of her late husband, who died from mesothelioma he contracted while working for one of the defendants. Brewster seeks compensatory and punitive damages for her husband's estate and the damages she suffered.

* Jessica Harper filed a suit against Certified Oil, claiming she was fired after the company learned she was pregnant. Harper claims her termination is a violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act. She seeks reinstatement to her former position, back pay and an award for emotional distress, embarrassment and mental anguish.

* Jackie Hoppe filed a suit against Alcon Manufacturing, claiming she was discriminated against and fired because of a mental impairment. Hoppe claims she suffered from sleep deprivation, severe depression, attention deficit disorder, panic attacks, anxiety and other mental impairments. Due to her impairments, she had to take time off work. Hoppe claims she was harassed because of her disability and she was fired March 15, 2006. Hoppe seeks additional back wages, front pay, and anything else she would have received if she had not been fired. She also seeks compensatory and punitive damages for mental anguish.
