Man sues Cabell Huntington Hospital for malpractice

HUNTINGTON - A former patient at Cabell Huntington Hospital has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital after he received more injuries during his hospitalization.

Floyd Queen filed a suit Dec. 20 in Cabell Circuit Court seeking compensatory damages for his injuries.

According to the suit filed by Mississippi attorney Michael J. Fuller Jr., Queen was a patient at Cabell Huntington from Dec. 13, 2006, to Jan. 22, 2007.

Queen, 61 at the time, claims he suffered catastrophic injuries, disfigurement, extreme pain, suffering and mental anguish during his stay at the hospital.

While under the care of the hospital Queen, suffered multiple pressure sores, weight loss, malnutrition and infections. Queen claims the injuries caused his to lose his personal dignity and endure extreme and unnecessary pain, degradation, anguish, disfigurement and emotional trauma.

In the seven-count lawsuit, Queen seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

The case has been assigned to Judge John L. Cummings.
