Angela Marshall v. Rite Aid

* Marshall was shopping at a Huntington Rite Aid when she was allegedly struck in the face by a sign. The suit claims she reached to grab some products when the sign fell, causing serious injury to her back, neck, head and teeth. Marshall asserts that Rite Aid is negligent and should have maintained a safe shopping establishment. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

James Adkins and Marlaine Adkins, individually and as parents of Kayla Adkins v. The Board of Education of The County of Wayne

* Kayla Adkins was a student as Spring Valley High School when, in Fall 2005, she was required to walk with the assistance of crutches due to an injury. The suit claims Spring Valley High School refused to make accommodations for Adkins and harassed her for using the elevator. The suit goes on the accuse the school of forcing Adkins to maneuver a stairway during a fire drill, which led to further injury of her leg. She is seeking compensatory damages.

Michael Kinder v. Stowers Trucking Company and MAC Trailer Manufacturing

* Kinder, a former employee of Stowers, was hauling coal along U.S. 52 in a MAC trailer owned by Stowers. He claims he was descending a steep grade when his trailer came loose from the truck, causing him to lose control. The tractor and trailer was twisting out of control and subsequently collided with another tractor trailer, according to the suit. Kinder claims Stowers Trucking had been involved in similar accidents in the months preceeding the accident. Kinder is seeking punitive and compensatory damages.

Sheila Locklear Blackburn v. Wildcat Tavern II, Shawn Kitts, Bobby Ray Kitts and Katie Kitts
PA-Miki Thompson; J-Darrell Pratt
* Blackburn was at the Wilcat Tavern, which is owned by the defendants, when a fight allegedly broke out among patrons. Blackburn claims the bartender asked her to watch the cash register while he attempted to resolve the dispute. While doing so, she was allegedly struck multiple time in the face and body, causing permanent injury. Blackburn asserts the Defendants were responsible for maintaining a safe environment. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
