Woman sues over slip, fall at IGA store

CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a local grocery store after she slipped and fell while shopping.

Jacqueline Miller filed the suit Dec. 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Oakhurst Foods, Inc., doing business as IGA.

According to the suit, Miller, of St. Albans, was shopping at IGA on Dec. 30, 2005, when she slipped on a substance on the floor and fell.

Miller claims she suffered physical injury due to the fall, as well as mental anguish, limitations in her activities and a diminution in her ability to enjoy life.

Miller seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Attorney William H. Harding is representing Miller. The case has been assigned to Judge Jennifer Bailey Walker.
