* David and Richard Biafora are claiming City Manager Dan Boroff and City Engineer Terry L. Hough have caused them unnecessary delays in building projects, delaying building permits and occupancy permits that forced them to change building and/or development plans that previously were approved. The Biaforas allege that other individuals performing similar types of work in the city are not required to do the same thing and other developers are given preferential treatment. The Biaforas also claim David Perky made malicious and defamatory statements about them that were harmful to their business interests. They are seeking compensatory damages for costs overruns, engineering costs, interest expense, extra labor costs, lost rental income and general damages for past, present and future mental anguish, embarrassment, inconvenience and loss of earning capacity.

* As sole owner of Cafe Bacchus, Olivia Carrick sold a 50 percent ownership to Judy Spade in September 2005. Following that sale, numerous financial and managerial irregularities occurred in the restaurant's operation. Spade is seeking monetary damages against Carrick and restaurant manager David Corbett in addition to attorney fees, costs, and expenses in addition to punitive damages.
