Tara Vitatoe, Individually and next friend and Mother of Jacobie Vitatoe, a Minor v. Mylan Pharmaceticals, Inc., Mylan In., and Mylan Laboratories, Inc.

* Tara Vitatoe seeks judgment against Mylan Pharmaceuticals for side effects suffered from a drug, Phenytoin Sodium, her son Jacob had taken. Tara Vitatoe claims there were no warnings, or inadequate warnings on the label of the medication warning of an increased risk for toxic epidermal necrosis or Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. Jacob was prescribed the medication, which was manufactured by Mylan, after suffering a seizure in January in 2007. After another seizure in March of 2007, Vitatoe developed an allergic reaction to the drug that was diagnosed as Steven Johnson Syndrome. He was transferred to Shriner's Hospital where he remained for one month. Vitatoe also seeks medical and life care expenses, loss of employment related benefits, punitive damages, pre and post judgment interest, costs and attorney fees.

* Lisa Cyphert claims that WVUH failed to properly and adequately monitor Elaine Law after a fall sustained while she was a patient at WVU Hospitals. Shortly after her fall, Law died. Cyphert seeks judgment in an amount yet to be determined, including pre- and post-judgment interest and attorney fees.
