Richard Marcum v. Van-Dyne Crotty aka Spirit Services Company, and the Corporate Officers of Van-Dyne Crotty, individually

* Marcus was a district manager in the Huntington office of Columbus, Ohio-based Spirit Services. According to the suit, he was fired in August 2007. Marcum claims his former employer was required to pay his wages in full within 72 hours of his termination but failed to do so. He claims Spirit now owes him three times the amount due upon termination. He is seeking compensation for unpaid wages, commissions, fringe benefits and liquidated damages. He is also seeking punitive damages in the amount of $100,000.

Cabell Huntington Hospital Inc. v. West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority, Wyetta Fredericks

* According to the suit, the Western Regional Jail has entered into a contract with Cabell Huntington Hospital to provide medical care to inmates at various jails throughout the state. The hospital is responsible for the first $5,000 per inmate and any charges beyond that are the responsibility of the WVRJ. The suit claims the hospital performed services totaling $230,313.31 and is still owed a total of $177,145.31 for work performed on 42 inmates between May 2004 and April 2005. CHH is seeking compensatory damages in that amount.
