Cabell County I-64 wreck results in lawsuit

HUNTINGTON - A Cabell County woman is seeking $75,000 after she suffered severe injuries when she collided with a commercial truck on the interstate in eastern Cabell County.

Leslie and William Ferrell filed a suit Feb. 15 in Cabell Circuit Court against James L. Robinson, the driver of a 2001 Western Star Conversion commercial truck, and Caudill Seed Co., the company for which Robinson works.

According to the suit, Robinson and Leslie Ferrell were on Interstate 64 near Milton on Feb. 16, 2006, when Robinson operated his truck in such a manner as to "violently collide" with Ferrell.

Ferrell claims she suffered severe damages including an acute cervical and vertebral spine injury, and a dislocation of the cervical and vertebral spine, as well as damages to several vertebral discs.

William Ferrell claims he has suffered loss of consortium, companionship and society of his wife.

According to the suit, Leslie and William Ferrell seek $75,000 to compensate them for their injuries, as well as punitive damages.

Attorney Timothy I. Eves is representing the Ferrells. The case has been assigned to Judge David M. Pancake.
