Michael Allen Brown v. Chapman Printing Company

* Brown was an employee of Chapman Printing in March 2006 when he was allegedly ordered to work on and repair the Heidelberg Speed Master, a printing press. Brown claims that while he was working on the machine, his supervisor intentionally turned on the press. Brown's hands were caught in the rollers of the machine, thus crushing his hand, the suit claims. Brown claims Chapman Printing knew the Heidelberg posed a safety threat and owes him punitive and compensatory damages.

* Biomedical Tissue Services is a company that harvested human tissue, bone and organs from human corpses for resale to commercial human tissue, organ and bone product processors and resellers. The suit claims the company harvested and sold tissue or bone that came from people who suffered from diseases such as syphilis, HIV, AIDS and hepatitis. Reedy received two bone grafts from the company in December 2004 and claims he contracted Hepatitis C from the graft. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

South Western West Virginia Region 2 Workforce Investment Board v. Trainer & Wright Company

* The Region 2 Workforce is a non-profit organization that uses federal funds for the "furtherance of work force development" in West Virginia. The group hired Trainer and Wright to audit its books, records and financial statements. According to the suit, the accounting firm failed to process invoices since 2002, which resulted in the organization being overextended and over obligated. The suit claims the organization was damaged in an amount in excess of $1,000,000. Region 2 is seeking damages in that amount.

Amy Hogsett v. Wendy's International

* Hogsett was leaving a Barboursville Wendy's when she allegedly fell to the ground when she tripped over a "hidden drop off." She claims the restaurant failed to maintain the safety of its premises and as a result, she suffered injuries to her back, foot, ankle and shoulder.
