* The Plaintiffs own 240 acres in Wayne County and agreed to lease the oil and gas rights to Target for a royalty of one-eighth of the market price for the gas taken from the well. The suit claims Target Oil and Gas did not send any royalty checks in a three-year period and refused to show production analysis for the well. The plaintiffs are seeking a termination of the lease and whatever royalties are owed them.

Ronald Spurlock, Administrator of the Estate of Pamela Goodrich, Deceased v. City of Ceredo

* Goodrich was pulled over in Ceredo in April 2006 and was arrested for driving with a revoked license. She was placed in a holding cell that was out of the view of the officer's work station and the surveillance camera in the cell was turned off due to privacy concerns. An officer on duty later found Goodrich hanging from a drawstring that had been in the waistband of her pants. According to the suit, the officer didn't immediately cut her down, but instead consulted the dispatcher. The suit claims Goodrich's death was a result of the negligence of the City of Ceredo and the Plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages.

Jesse Williamson v. Rockspring Development, New Eagle Development and Foundation Coal Holdings, Inc.

* Williamson claims the three coal companies have contaminated the groundwater in the area of his home to the point that the contaminants have infiltrated his well water. According to the suit, the companies failed to contain the contaminants to their work area and Williamson is thus entitled to punitive and compensatory damages.
