* Blankenship was eating at Hooter's in April 2007 when he allegedly broke his lower left tooth on a foreign object in the hamburger he was served. Blankenship claims he had to undergo a root canal and the installation of a crown in order to repair the tooth at a cost of $1,970. He is seeking compensation in that amount and punitive damages of an unspecified amount.

Gary Castle, Individually and as Personal Representative and Administrator of the estate of Herbert Castle, Jr. v. Cabell Huntington Hospital, Inc., Douglas W. Henson, M.D.

* Dr. Henson performed an ileostomy closure on Castle in May 1, 2006. According to the suit, Dr. Henson failed to give orders for cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry and other medical procedures that Castle Jr. claims were standard care. The suit claims the nursing staff also failed to properly monitor Castle. His son claims that as a result of the hospital's negligence, his father suffered respiratory arrest, followed by cardiac arrest and ultimately his death on May 2, 2006. The Plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages.

Marie "Chris" Miller and Ed Miller, her husband v. Cabell Huntington Hospital, Inc.

* Miller underwent surgery at CHH in February 2006 for the placement of a permanent feeding tube. While she was recovering, the suit claims a nurse entered the room and injected Miller with Phenergan into an IV in her right hand. Miller claims that over the next few months, her fingers, thumb and part of her right hand turned black and eventually died. The digits on her hand were eventually amputated due to the damage caused by the medicine, according to the suit. She is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

Paul Morrison, Rickie Harshbarger and Jack Zimmeron v. Jean Whobrey, Ray Miller and Lewis Harper

* The three Plaintiffs were riding in a truck on I-64 when, according to the suit, Whobrey crossed the median and struck the truck. The three claim they have sustained permanent injuries and incurred medical bills in excess of $38,000. They are seeking compensatory damages in an amount more than $100,000.

MSG Properties, LLC & Catherine Green v. David Richard Widdifield & 809, LLC

* In November 2007, MSG entered into a sales contract with 809, LLC, for the sale of personal property and other goodwill associated with the operation of a Cabell County nightclub. MSG claims the Defendant was required to assist Green in the obtaining of a liquor license but in fact, undermined the process. The suit also contends that Widdifield used his knowledge of liquor laws to try to get the Plaintiff banned from selling alcohol and thus destroy the business. MSG is seeking compensatory damages in excess of $300,000.
