Lincoln woman sues gas station after fall

CHARLESTON - A Lincoln County woman filed a suit against a local gas station, after she fell and had to receive medical treatment.

Donna McCormick filed the suit Feb. 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court, against Runyan's Sunoco in Charleston.

According to the suit, McCormick was a customer of the store on April 18, 2007. While there, McCormick fell and was injured.

The suit says Runyan's created an unsafe place to walk by failing to keep the walking area even and using a mat that has holes that would catch a women's high heel shoe.

McCormick claims she spent large sums of money for medical and hospital treatment and services. She also claims she has suffered mental anguish and emotional distress, annoyance and inconvenience and the loss of ability to enjoy life.

McCormick seeks compensatory and general damages to cover her injuries.

Attorney J. Michael Ranson is representing McCormick. The case has been assigned to Judge Charlie King.
