Kathy Jo Hurley, Loreen L. Hurley and Johnny A. Hurley v. Mon Health Care Inc.
PA-J. Michael Benninger; J-NA
* Loreen and Johnny Hurley are seeking damages against Mon Health Care for injuries sustained by Loreen Hurley after the actuator in the Hoyer lift stopped working properly. As Loreen was moving Kathy Jo Hurley from her wheelchair to a seat with the hoyer lift, when the actuator housing broke and caused Kathy Hurley to fall onto the left hand and forearm of Loreen. As a result of the fall, Loreen sustained a severe fracture of her left distal radius. The Hurley's contacted Mon Health Care to order another replacement actuator. The second replacement actuator seemed to work properly until approximately one month later, when it broke again, causing Kathy Hurley to fall to the floor. The Hurley's are seeking future damages, pre and post judgment and compensation for the permanent injuries suffered by Kathy and Loreen.
