* Larry Medley filed a suit against Anita and Daniel Chambers, claiming they trespassed on his property. Medley claims the Chambers dumped brush, debris and wood on his property, as well as constructed three drainpipes and a rock retaining wall. According to the suit, Medley seeks the cost of damages, as well as a court order requiring the Chambers to remove the wood and refuse pile, the retaining wall and the drainage pipes, to cease from cutting the grass on his property and additional relief.

* Jo Ann Stone filed a suit against Racing Corporation of West Virginia, after she slipped while visiting Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center. According to the suit, Stone was visiting the center April 26, 2006, when she slipped and fell on a foreign substance. Stone claims she incurred expenses for medicine, therapy, medical attention and hospitalization, and will continue to incur medical expenses and suffer pain of body and mind in the future.

* Charles Koenig has filed a suit against Kenneth Jones, seeking reimbursement for more than $108,000 in expenses and materials. Koenig signed a lease agreement for space Jones owns at 5616 MacCorkle Avenue, to start a video lottery establishment. Koenig, with Jones' permission, then started a complete renovation of the first floor of the establishment, which included ripping out walls, replacing broken windows and sheetrock, new gravel for the parking lots and other interior and exterior decorations and renovations. Koenig seeks $108,364.98 from Jones, for his time, expenses and materials, for remodeling his building.

Zeda Fox v. Charleston Area Medical Center

* Zeda Fox filed a suit against Charleston Area Medical Center, after she was fired. Fox claims she was fired for raising concerns over patient safety issues. Fox claims she was slandered by CAMC when management personnel stated her firing was due to insubordination. Fox claims she was not insubordinate during her employment at the hospital. She seeks punitive and compensatory damages.

* Luis Jackson filed a suit against Mineral Labs, where he was employed, claiming he was fired because of his ancestry. Jackson, who is of Mexican descent, claims he is often mistaken as being African-American. He claims he was subjected to racist comments and an abusive work environment. According to the suit, Jackson was fired because of his ancestry. He seeks back pay, front pay and compensatory and punitive damages.
