CHARELSTON - A Putnam County man has filed a suit on behalf of his son, who died from head trauma after an ATV accident.
Michael McGhee filed the suit May 6 in Kanawha Circuit Court against physicians Frederick Armbrust and Michael David Hall, as well as Neurological Associates Inc., claiming they failed to properly treat his son, Michael McGhee II.
According to the suit, Michael McGhee II was admitted to Charleston Area Medical Center on Jan. 28, 2006, because of a head injury sustained during an ATV accident.
The suit says Armbrust and Hall failed to monitor McGhee's intracranial pressure, which led to irreversible brain injury and his subsequent death on Feb. 2, 2006.
Michael McGhee claims his son was forced to endure mental anguish, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and ultimately, suffer death because of the negligence, carelessness, recklessness and deviation from the appropriate standard of care.
McGhee claims he and his family have suffered great mental pain and anguish, loss of service, society, guidance and companionship of the deceased, which has resulted in financial and pecuniary losses.
McGhee seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
Attorney Richard D. Lindsay is representing McGhee. The case has been assigned to Judge Duke Bloom.
