* Bobbi Myers filed the suit against Mylan Pharmaceuticals on behalf of the estate of Elizabeth Starr. Starr was prescribed Digitek, a drug commonly used to treat heart conditions. However, the active ingredient was twice the approved level, and Starr died of an overdose. Myers claims Starr suffered tremendous pain, suffering and mental anguish prior to her death. Myers seeks compensation, medical expenses and funeral expenses for Starr's estate.

George Armes v. City of Charleston, Sara Stevenson D.V.M., individually and as an employee of Good Shepard Veterinary Hospital, Jesse Lee Harris, individually and in his capacity of Charleston Humane Officer, and Laurie "Doe."

* George Armes filed a suit against the City of Charleston, seeking to have his dog returned. Armes claims his dog, Cassie, was taken to Good Shepard Veterinary Hospital after she got out of the yard. While at the hospital, Cassie was spayed, without Armes' permission. Armes was then charged with animal cruelty, no dog license and having an unconfined dog. He was arrested and placed on $2,000 P.R. bond. Armes claims he has been wrongfully charged twice as a result of a flawed investigation, was cast in a false light and his dog was stolen. He seeks compensatory and punitive damages, as well as the return of his dog.

* Frank Joseph Haas filed a suit against the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of West Virginia, claiming he was forced out of the fraternity after trying to make the organization more tolerant, friendly, decent and accepting of everyone. Haas, who has been a Mason for more than 30 years, claims he proposed various progressive reforms, which were met with some resistance. He said he was "lured" to a meeting, where he was given the Masonic death sentence. He seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

* Anna Davis filed a suit against Kroger Co., after she slipped at the Delaware Avenue location. Davis claims she was walking through the store when she slipped on a clear substance and fell, suffering serious bodily injury. She seeks compensatory damages.

* Suddenlink Media filed a suit against Hunt and Serreno, seeking $22,671.50. Suddenlink seeks the money with an interest of 8.25% per annum.

Kevin Copley v. W.Q. Watters Company

* Kevin Copley filed a suit against W.Q. Watters Company. Copley was injured when he fell off painting scaffolding while painting the United Building in Charleston. According to the suit, Copley was using the D 800 Hi-Lo Powered Scaffold system when it broke and he fell approximately 22 feet. Copley claims he was seriously injured. He seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
