CHARLESTON - A Putnam County man filed a suit against a local automobile dealership after he slipped in the service facility and injured his knee.
Charles Teel filed the suit May 19 in Kanawha Circuit Court, against his employer, Joe Holland Chevrolet and Floorpro, Inc.
Teel was a service adviser at the South Charleston facility. According to the suit, the dealership hired Floorpro to paint concrete floors in a new service facility. However, Teel claims Floorpro failed to add a non-skid additive to the paint, which made the floor extremely slippery.
On July 18, 2006, Teel was walking across the floor and slipped, suffering several injuries to his knee, including a torn meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament. He suffered several pain and suffering, loss of wages and benefits, loss of future earning capacity and benefits, and ability to enjoy life.
In the four-count suit, Teel seeks compensatory damages.
Attorney L. Lee Javins is representing Teel. The case has been assigned to Judge Louis Bloom.
