Kanawha woman sues Kroger after slip, fall in Charleston store

CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a local grocery store after she slipped and fell in the store, and was injured.

Anna Davis filed the suit May 30 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Kroger Co.

Davis was a customer at the Kroger on Delaware Avenue in Charleston on April 7, 2008. While walking in the store, she slipped on a clear substance and fell. Davis claims she suffered serious bodily injury after the fall.

She claims Kroger allowed a substance that was difficult to see remain on the floor, in an area where it was expected that customers would walk.

She seeks compensatory damages for her medical bills, pain and suffering, annoyance and inconvenience, lost wages and other damages.

Attorney James Stebbins is representing Davis. The case has been assigned to Judge Jennifer Bailey Walker.
