Cipoletti elevated to chief ODC post

CHARLESTON – A longtime staff member at the Office of Disciplinary Counsel has been named as its new chief.

According to a press release issued by ODC, Rachael L. Fletcher Cipoletti has been approved unanimously by the state Supreme Court to become the new chief lawyer disciplinary counsel. Her appointment is retroactive to April 17.

Cipolotti's appointment fills the vacancy created by Lawrence Lewis, who left ODC in January after seven years to accept a position with the Cabell County Public Defender's Office. Following Lewis' resignation, the Court appointed Cipoetti as ODC's interim chief disciplinary counsel.

Cipoletti first come to work at ODC in August 2002. Prior to working for ODC, Cipoletti worked at Legal Aid of West Virginia following her admission to the Bar on Oct. 10, 2001.

A native of Cross Lanes, Cipoletti is the daughter of Michael and Mary Fletcher. Following her graduation from Nitro High School in 1994, Cipoletti enrolled at West Virginia University.

Four years later, Cipoletti graduated Magna Cum Laude from WVU with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in communications. In 2001, she received her Juris Doctorate from WVU's College of Law.

Her professional associations include membership of the National Association of Bar Counsel, American Bar Association, West Virginia State Bar Association, Mountain State Bar Association and Barrister in the John A. Fields Jr. American Inns of Court. Also, Cipoletti is a lifetime member of the West Virginia University Alumni Association and director at large and former chairwoman of the Friends of Clay Center.

Cipoletti is married to Jay Cipoletti, CEO of Point Forward, a marketing firm. They reside in South Hills with their eight-month-old daughter Emma.
