Kanawha man in a lather over car wash product

CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County man has filed a suit against a car wash distributor, after he was injured when he used their cleanser.

Wesley A. Nutter filed the suit June 17 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Malco Products, who manufactures and distributes "Ultra Violet Premium Wash & Wax."

According to the suit, Nutter bought some of the wash from Russell Bartley. While washing his truck with the product, Nutter suffered swelling of his face and eyes, a burning sensations, puffiness, pain and other irritations and a subsequent rash.

Nutter suffered expenses for the care, treatment and hospitalization after he was injured.

Nutter claims the company sold him a defective product, and should have known of the dangers associated with using the particular wash.

The suit says Malco also should have known its product could cause serious physical injury or death.

In the three-count suit, Nutter seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Attorney Marvin Masters is representing Nutter. The case has been assigned to Judge Louis Bloom.
