Woman blames Kroger after slipping in store

CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a grocery chain, claiming she was injured when she slipped in a store.

Buffi W. Rossi filed the suit Aug. 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Kroger.

According to the suit, Rossi went to the Kroger in Ashton Place in Charleston on Sept. 27, 2006. While shopping, she slipped on a clear liquid on the floor and fell.

Rossi claims her fall caused severe injury to her right knee.

Rossi also claims she suffered medical, hospital and doctor expenses in excess of $5,000 and believes she will suffer more expenses in the future.

According to the suit, Rossi also suffered loss of earning, loss of capacity to work, loss of enjoyment of life and mental anguish, annoyance, aggravation and inconvenience.

Rossi seeks compensation for her injuries in an amount that should not exceed $75,000.

Attorney Harvey D. Peyton is representing Rossi. The case has been assigned to Judge Paul Zakaib.
