NItro woman sues for fall at convenience store

WINFIELD – A Nitro woman has sued Speedway after she injured herself when she fell at one of the convenience store chain's Putnam County locations.

Juana T. Rojas filed the suit Sept. 26 in Putnam Circuit Court against Speedway SuperAmerica LLC, Marathon Petroleum Company LLC and Marathon Oil Company.

Rojas says that on July 7, 2007, she was visiting the Speedway in Nitro when she fell on a portion of the floor that had "become unsafe and dangerous."

She says the defendants and/or its agents were negligent and careless in allowing the floor to become unsafe and dangerous as well as not inspecting the premises for such conditions.

Rojas says her injuries were severe and are permanent in nature, causing her great pain of body and mind, loss of enjoyment of life and other impairments and disabilities.

She seeks joint and several compensatory damages as well as pre- and post-judgment interests and costs.

Rojas is represented by Charleston attorney Charles M. Love IV of The Masters Law Firm. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Ed Eagloski.
