Stephan Saulter v. Sheetz Inc.

* Saulter, a 46-year-old black man from Montgomery County, Md., claims he was a victim of racial profiling while he shopped at the Sheetz convenience store near Charles Town Races and Slots on Nov. 29, 2007. He says the cashier accused him of shoplifting and called the police, but he refused to a search. He was arrested for shoplifting and obstruction. Saulter has 10 counts against the defendant, including malicious prosecution, defamation, invasion of privacy, violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act and negligence. He is requesting judgment against for compensatory and punitive damages.
