CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County woman has filed a lawsuit against the owner of a dog, claiming she suffered injuries when the dog attacked her and her pet.
Robin D. Spencer filed the suit Oct. 9 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Tammy J. Daniels. Both are residents of Tornado.
According to the suit, Spencer was walking her dog near property owned by Daniels.
Spencer claims Daniels owned an 8-year-old Rottweiler and Lab mix named Blackie. Spencer claims Blackie exited Daniels's yard, crossed the road and attacked Spencer's dog, then viciously attacked Spencer.
According to the suit, Daniels allowed her dog to become free from his chain and leave property without control.
Spencer claims she suffered permanent injuries to her body, which required medical treatment.
According to the suit, Spencer suffered injuries and expenses for doctors, hospital, medications and other medical care. She claims she has lost ability and capacity to enjoy life and loss of income.
Spencer seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
Attorney Andrew Nason is representing Spencer. The case has been assigned to Judge Irene Berger.
