THIS JUST IN: Monongalia County

Feb. 18
James Todd Green v. Catholic Charities West Virginia
PA-Kelly R. Reed; Judge N/A
* Green was hired in September 2005 as a case manager for Child Care Resource Center in Morgantown and promoted to Supervisor for Monongalia and Marion counties. Green says he became aware the Director of Catholic Charities, Traci Kinney, was misappropriating, misusing and/or wasting funds and resources by altering formulas and income guidelines for current and potential clients. By doing so, clients would qualify for assistance that might not otherwise be able to do so. Green notified Kinney that he believed what she was doing was a violation of state and federal law as well as Catholic Charities policy. Kinney advised him that her actions did not violate any laws or procedures. Green expressed his concerns again and advised Kinney he would report her conduct to the Executive Director of the Catholic Diocese. Shortly after, Kinney began to create false and misleading disciplinary documents about Green. Green's employment was terminated shortly thereafter. Green is seeking judgment for damages and injuries; pre- and post-judgment interest and punitive damages.
