Black Gold Coal Company v. Maxim Crane Works, Reyburn's Auto Service Inc.

* Maxim owned a boom truck that was involved in an accident on I-64 in July 2007. Reyburn's righted the truck, transported it to their storage facilities and refused to release it until Maxim paid the bill, which was in excess of $14,000.00. According to the suit, Black Gold paid the bill and was to take ownership of the truck until Maxim could repay Black Gold. The suit claims Maxim took control of the truck once Black Gold paid the bill. Maxim refuses to return the truck and Reyburn's refuses to return the $14,000.00, according to the suit. Black Gold is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Brandon Bailes v. Allevard Sogefi USA Inc.

* Bailes, an employee of Allevard Sogefi, was training new employees in April 2008 and was attempting to remove rubber material that had become lodged in a machine. According to Bailes, the cylinder of the machine unexpectedly moved and severed his finger. He claims it happened because the safety guard had been bypassed. He is suing his former employer for intentional exposure to injury and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Timothy Weeks v. Pro Industrial Welding Inc., PIW Incorporated, Rockspring Development Inc.
PA-John H. Bryan; J-James H. Young
* Weeks was a contractor working for PIW to repair industrial machinery. He was repairing a shaker machine at a coal mine in East Lynn when the machine's jack unexpectedly collapsed on him, according to the suit. Weeks claims the machine crushed six of his fingers and it took 15 minutes for PIW to get the machine off of him. Weeks also claims the jack was the third to collapse that day. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
