Woman sues K-mart after slip and fall

CHARLESTON – A woman says she slipped on some liquid near the women's dressing rooms at K-mart and injured herself.

Cornetta Brisco filed a lawsuit July 14 against K-Mart Corp. in Kanawha Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Brisco was shopping at the K-mart in the Patrick Street Plaza in Charleston on Jan. 17, 2008.

She claims she was in the area of the women's dressing rooms when she stepped on some liquid on the floor and slipped.

Brisco claims she fell and suffered head and neck pain. She adds that the fall aggravated a pre-existing back injury.

She's seeking compensatory damages.

Larry O. Ford is representing the plaintiff. The case is before Kanawha Circuit Judge Charles King.
