CHARLESTON —- Four Charleston doctors are being sued for the wrongful death of a St. Albans woman.
Carrie Lea Wiesner was a patient at Thomas Memorial Hospital on Oct. 8, 2007, and Charleston Area Medical Center on Oct. 9, 2007, according to a complaint filed Oct. 29 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Wiesner was under the care of Dr. Kevin L. Eggleston, a critical care and internal medicine physician; Dr. Hossam Tarakji, an internal medicine physician; Dr. Tamejiro Takubo, an osteopathic and critical care physician; and Dr. Robert J. Crisalli, an internal medicine physician, during her two days at Thomas Memorial Hospital and Charleston Area Medical Center.
Mrs. Wiesner died Oct. 10, 2007. Her widower, Kristopher A. Wiesner, and Carolyn Hart were made co-administrators of the estate.
Mr. Wiesner and Hart claim the defendants failed to perform procedures in a proper, careful and customary manner; and failed to timely and adequately diagnose, treat and otherwise care for and/or misdiagnosed Mrs. Wiesner's condition, resulting in her death.
Mr. Wiesner and Hart are suing for compensatory and punitive damages for wrongful death and medical professional liability. Mr. Wiesner is suing individually for loss of spousal consortium. Sprague W. Hazard is representing Mr. Wiesner and Hard.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
