* The plaintiff was a pedestrian who was crossing the street at 12th and Market, on Nov. 3, 2007. She was struck by defendant while he was backing up. She was struck to the pavement and was required to be transported to the hospital by ambulance, as she received injuries to her head and body. Insomuch as some of her injuries are permanent, she will sustain future pain and suffering.

Defendant fled the scene of the accident and was later found by Wheeling police officers. These willful reckless actions were done with a criminal conscious disregard for the public's safety.

As a direct and proximate result of the negligence permanent injuries have been sustained to her left foot; incurring medical expenses of $1,270.18.

Michael A. Jobes and Kathy D. Jobes vs. Wheeling Hospital Inc.

* Plaintiff went to Wheeling Hospital for the sole intended purpose of visiting his mother, on Dec. 17, 2007. His mother was placed in a wheelchair by two nurses. As one of the nurses began placing Mrs. Jobes into the front passenger seat, her oxygen lines/ hoses became caught around her throat and began to strangle her. The nurses began to drop her and screamed for the plaintiff, Michael A. Jobes, to assist them, so that she would not hit the floor. Defendant sustained debilitating injuries to his back and legs, as a proximate result of this emergency. He was released from the hospital on Dec. 21, 2007. Compensatory damages are sought.
