Davis
CHARLESTON -- Robin Jean Davis will become the Chief Justice of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals for 2010.
In a recent administrative conference, the court opted to maintain the chief justice rotation that has been in place since 1980. Davis will take over from current Chief Justice Brent Benjamin.
When Davis recuses herself from a case, Justice Margaret Workman will serve as chief. In the current rotation, Workman would be the next Chief Justice in 2011.
Davis, 53, was elected to the Court in 1996, when she was elected to an unexpired term.
Now the most senior justice, she also was chief justice in 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2007.
