CHARLESTON -- Another former employee is suing Halftime Sports and its two owners for failure to pay wages.
Nicholas Miller was employed by Halftime Sports as a host and dishwasher, according to a complaint filed Nov. 17 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Michael Hughes and Richard Rose are the owners of Halftime Sports.
Miller claims Halftime Sports failed to timely pay him for wages for two pay periods, from Aug. 3 to Aug. 16 and Aug. 17 to Aug. 26, 2009.
According to the suit, the company's actions were willful, wanton, and/or undertaken with reckless disregard and/or reckless indifference to their rights.
Miller is suing for compensatory and punitive damages for counts of violation of the Wage Payment and Collection Act and fraud. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess of Bailess Law.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
Earlier in November, three other former Halftime Sports employees filed similar lawsuits. And in October, eight other former employees did the same.
