* On Nov. 29, 2007, Ahmed had Scotty Rakes undergo a CT scan of his abdomen, which revealed a small anterior metastatic lymph node. According to the suit, Ahmed began providing chemotherapy for Scotty Rakes on Jan. 21, 2008. He was diagnosed with neutropenia secondary to chemotherapy and transferred to Logan General Hospital, where he died March 13. Beverly Rakes claims the second opinion physician did not find cancer in Scotty Rakes and therefore Ahmed was providing chemotherapy for a cancer Scotty Rakes did not have. She is seeking compensatory damages.

* On Sept. 23, Kidd observed multiple State Police vehicles illegally parked along Goshorn Street, one of which was occupying two spaces clearly marked and reserved for handicapped parking. Kidd claims he began photographing the illegally parked police car when Garnes confronted him. According to the suit, Garnes demanded an explanation, to which Kidd replied he was taking photographs of illegally parked police cars. Kidd claims Garnes searched him and made him stand against a wall with his hands up for 15 minutes, cursing at him and threatening him. Kidd is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

* On Jan. 29, 2008, the plaintiffs entered into a motor vehicle purchase contract with the defendants for the purchase of a 2008 Suzuki Forenza, which they claim they were only interested in because it was advertised as no money down and only $99 per month. After they agreed to submit a credit application and attempt to purchase the vehicle, they claim they were not offered the advertised terms, were told they were not available and were "just a promotional gimmick." They are seeking for their contract be canceled and for compensatory and punitive damages.

* On July 17, 2007, Fowler Sr. was a patient at Charleston Area Medical Center, where he underwent a thoracentesis on the right hemothorax, even though his pleural effusion was on the left side, according to the suit. Grey, a pulmonary disease physician, performed the operation. Fowler Jr. claims it was well documented that the pleural effusion was on his father's left side and Grey's mistake in failing to mark the correct lung was a breach in standard care. Fowler Sr. stayed in the hospital and received medical services to recover from the error, until his death. Fowler Jr. is seeking compensatory damages.

* On June 25, 2008 at approximately 2 p.m., Dadisman was driving on Lee Street and stopped his vehicle at a red light. He claims while stopped at the intersection, he was in a lane that permitted traffic to turn left. According to the suit, William C. Jones was operating a vehicle owned by the City of Charleston and was in the lane to Dadisman's immediate right. Dadisman claims the lane Jones was in is restricted to vehicles proceeding straight ahead on Lee Street, but when the light turned green, Jones attempted to turn left and in doing so, struck Dadisman's vehicle. Dadisman is seeking compensatory damages.

* In 1997 Mr. Cook was admitted to Charleston Area Medical Center with acute anterior wall myocardial infarction with three-vessel coronary artery disease and underwent a left heart catheterization by Thakkar. Mr. Cook continued to see Thakkar until his last visit on April 5, 2007, where he was told he was doing fine and to follow up in one year, according to the suit. On Sept. 7, 2007, Mr. Cook was found unconscious at his work and was taken to Boone Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Mrs. Cook is seeking compensatory damages.

* Casto was issued an accidental death and loss of limb policy through Bank of Nitro in 1996 and in 2006 sustained injury to his right foot, which became infected. Casto lost his right leg below the knee and claims after this loss, he sustained injuries to his left foot, due to the transfer of pressure and weight, which caused him to lose his left leg below the knee. Casto claims he gave notice to Haynes in 2008 that he had suffered the loss of two limbs and wished to make a claim under his policy, but has yet to receive anything. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

He claims they failed to repair the vehicle and failed and refused to provide him with a comparable replacement or reimburse him. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

* On Sept. 3, 2004, Edwardson entered into a motor vehicle purchase contract for the purchase of a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg. He claims after the purchase he discovered and experienced repeated nonconformities and returned the vehicle for repairs at least seven times. Edwardson claims the defendants failed to repair the vehicle, failed and refused to provide a comparable replacement and failed to reimburse him. He is seeking for his contract to be declared canceled, and for compensatory and punitive damages.

* On Dec. 11, 2007, Ross was a passenger in a vehicle when two police cruisers pulled the vehicle over, ordered her out of the vehicle and handcuffed her for failure to appear at a hearing for nonpayment of a fee. Ross claims she was not aware of the hearing. According to the suit, when Ross' daughter advised the judge her mother had enough money for bail, the judge raised the amount and threatened to send her to South Central Regional Jail. Ross is seeking compensatory damages.
