Woman sues Golden Corral after fall

HUNTINGTON -- A woman is suing Golden Corral after she slipped and fell on water in the floor.

On Jan. 31, 2008, Elizabeth Hager was at the Golden Corral in Barboursville when she slipped and fell on water in the floor of the restroom stall and stuck the toilet with her pelvis, hip and back, according to a complaint filed Dec. 11 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Hager claims management at the restaurant was aware of a defective water heater that was leaking water onto the floor of the restroom and failed to take any corrective action about it.

According to the suit, the defendant negligently inspected the floor and failed to clean the standing water on that was on the floor in the restroom.

Hager claims she has suffered physical and mental pain and suffering; a diminution in her capacity to enjoy life; embarrassment; humiliation; annoyance and inconvenience; and has incurred traveling and medical expenses.

Hager is seeking compensatory damages. Kenneth P. Hicks and Roger L. Lambert are representing her.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake
