Man sues Stonewall nightclub, individual after attack

HUNTINGTON -- A man is suing a local nightclub and one of its employees after he was attacked and injured.

On Jan. 1 Charles Edward Crigger III went to the Stonewall nightclub to pick up his boss when an employee attacked him, according to a complaint filed Dec. 16 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Crigger claims after he retrieved his boss and was walking back to his car, Eleazar James Morales approached him and began striking him in the head and face with his fists.

Crigger claims since Morales was an employee of the defendant, the Stonewall was "vicariously liable" for his actions.

According to the suit, Crigger suffered permanent physical and mental injuries; sustained physical and mental pain and suffering; experienced a diminished capacity to enjoy life; annoyance and inconvenience; and humiliation and embarrassment.

Crigger is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by Kenneth P. Hicks and Roger L. Lambert.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
