Ky. woman sues Cabell Huntington Hospial after fall on ice

HUNTINGTON -- A Kentucky woman is suing Cabell Huntington Hospital after she slipped and fell on ice in its parking lot.

On Jan. 15, 2008, Maureen Ibrahim, a resident of Pulaski County, Ky., parked her car in a handicapped parking space at the hospital to assist her husband for a scheduled appointment when she slipped on ice in the parking lot and fell, according to a complaint filed Dec. 30 in Cabell Circuit Court.

The defendant knew the parking lot was icy and failed to give notification of the dangerous condition to her and to the general public, according to the suit.

Ibrahim claims she suffered injury to her left leg, left knee, left hip and back from falling on the ice.

Ibrahim is seeking compensatory damages for her injuries. She is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Travis A. Griffith.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
